The Ultimate Addison Brunch Guide

By: Kristina Rowe

It’s no secret that brunch is particularly popular year-round in Addison, a town with sunny weather, walkable neighborhoods, and more than 200 restaurants. To help you get started, we’ve put together an ultimate guide to everyone’s favorite weekend activity. With links to 20 restaurant brunch menus, we’ve got tips on what to eat and drink when it’s brunch time, which could potentially be all the time. Whether you want to relax on a sunny patio or retreat indoors for a hangover helper, Addison has got you covered.

Enjoy the Variety

It’s been said that “variety is the spice of life,” and the variety of options for brunch in Addison can certainly spice up your weekends. Whatever you’re hungry for, it’s bound to be on the menu. And whether you’re looking for laid-back or elegant, hearty or handheld, cozy or vibrant, you’re sure to find the brunch of your dreams awaits you in Addison.

Ida Claire

Take Southern style to the limit at Ida Claire with brunch offerings like Fried Green Tomato Benedict, Shrimp and Grits, Crawfish Corn Beignets, and Nana's Stack of perfect pancakes.

The Southern theme is carried through the decor with cozy booths inside, shaded tables on the patio, and comfy seats inside a decked-out Airstream trailer. If you are looking to dine in the Airstream trailer, keep in mind that it seats up to 12 and reservations are required.

Mimosas are a must, and you can order one or buy a bottle of bubbly with your choice of two juices to make your own. There’s even a Man Mosa made with Old Forester Bourbon for those who like their brunch drinks a little stiffer.

Brunch Hours: Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hudson House

If you took the best diner you ever found and dressed up everything from the booths to the counter to the food, you’d end up with something very much like Hudson House. If you’re feeling fancy, you might like lobster eggs Benedict, or you may want to try their red velvet waffle with fried chicken. Both pancakes and French toast come with fresh fresh berries, and the Hudson Sandwich (with bacon, egg, cheese, and avocado) really hits the spot.

It’s not brunch without cocktails, and a full-service bar at Hudson House can serve whatever you crave. A beautifully garnished Bloody Mary fits the brunch mood, or order a Hudson House staple and make it a martini brunch.

Brunch Hours: Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

TK's

TK’s is known for comedy, but they also offer fantastic cocktails and cuisine, and that makes brunch a “go” on Sundays. With appealing options like avocado toast, lobster tacos, and short rib eggs Benedict, you might have a tough time choosing. Try a Hangover Burger or steak and eggs if you have a hearty appetite, or keep it simple with a smoked salmon plate or French toast.

The dining room is as polished as the food, so it’s a perfect spot for a brunch date or a get-together with the girl gang. Order mimosas singly, or in a pitcher, or choose a flight to pair your sparkling wine with a variety of juices.

Brunch Hours: Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lazy Dog

If you want to bring your best (four-legged) friend to brunch, Lazy Dog is the place to be on the weekends. Order a chicken or grilled hamburger patty bowl for your pup and treat yourself to some Bananas Foster French Toast, a breakfast burrito, or a country quiche. Add some donut holes (with Nutella dip!) or Bacon Candy if you really want to splurge.

Soak up the sunshine on the patio with your pooch, or bring the whole family and sit inside. Both mimosas and peach bellinis are DIY here, with a bottle of Freixenet with juice to mix your cocktail the way you like it.

Brunch Hours: Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m

Spatch Kitchen and Cocktails

Since it opened in Addison Walk last fall, Spatch Kitchen and Cocktails has been bringing Southern flair to its chicken-centric menu, but brunch has not been forgotten. Of course there’s fried chicken, but there’s also bacon in a Breakfast Quesadilla, andouille sausage in a Southwestern omelet, Oysters Rockefeller and crab fritters for variety.

The interior space is bright and cheery, and there’s sunny space on the patio too. Spatch’s signature cocktail, the Ginger Bird goes great with brunch. It’s served in a bird-shaped cocktail glass and is made with Tito’s Vodka, grapefruit, ginger, and Aperol.

Brunch Hours: Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Stirr

If you like to get a group together for brunch, Stirr just might be the place to gather. With an extensive brunch menu and large-format drinks to share, everyone can find their brunch happy place here. Snack on giant donut holes, ahi tuna tacos or hot maple chicken bites, then move on to peaches and cream pancakes, short rib hash, shrimp Benedict or blackened chicken and grits. An ample selection of flatbreads and salads will appeal to anyone who’s already ready for lunch.

Find a spot in the spacious main dining room or upstairs in the windowed-wall (and ceiling) bar to give your brunch a sunny outlook. The whole group can sip from a giant blood orange margarita or sangria, or each person can choose their own cocktails. Non-alcoholic options like a cucumber-lime spritz or strawberry lemonade are refreshing choices for those who don’t imbibe.

Brunch Hours: Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Visit the Breakfast Experts

If your favorite part of brunch is breakfast food, you’ll find spectacular egg dishes and pancakes at these breakfast-focused Addison restaurants.

The Original Pancake House

If you want to keep your brunch alcohol-free, Open since 1987, The Original Pancake House is one of the OG breakfast spots in Addison and serves all your favorite brunch bites any time their doors are open. Dutch Baby pancakes or apple pancakes are a real treat, and traditional breakfasts with eggs, pancakes and your choice of meats will get your day off to a great start.

Hours: Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery

Snooze might be all about breakfast food, but they’re not sleeping on brunch. The pancakes really shine here, with unique options like pineapple upside-down, blueberry Danish, and sweet potato. If you can’t pick one, have a flight of all three, or choose any of your three favorite pancake options. There are also some very special benedict creations like smashed avocado, habanero pork belly, or Lox-style salmon on a latke. The menu also includes breakfast sandwiches, omelets, tacos, and burritos, plus vegan meals and power bowls. The best part is that every dish is customizable.

A full menu of cocktails awaits you in the mid-century modern dining room that will remind you of The Jetsons if you’re of a certain age. With seven different mimosa choices and five Bloody Marys, you probably won’t need more choices, but Snooze offers them just the same. If the decor still has you reminiscing, an Orange Snoozius (like the nostalgic “Julius” but with vodka) might hit the spot.

Hours: Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Astoria Caffe & Wine Bar

At Astoria, brunch can be anything you choose and any time you choose. This European-style coffee shop turns into a wine bar at night, but there’s no reason you can’t flip the two if you crave brunch in the evening. Try the Cheese Croiffle, which is a cross between a croissant and a waffle stuffed with three cheeses. The Sunrise Breakfast pairs eggs and sausage links with a spinach, tomato and mozzarella salad, and a breakfast sandwich on an Everything bagel is another delightful option.

The European flair is a whole vibe at this sweet stop in Addison Circle. Find a place on the patio or nestle into a cozy club chair inside where you’ll have an excellent view of the wine selection and fresh-baked pastries. Coffee cocktails plus mimosas and other brunch drinks are part of an extensive collection of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine.

Hours: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. (Monday and Tuesday), midnight (Wednesday and Thursday), 1:45 a.m. (Friday and Saturday), and 10:30 p.m. (Sunday)

Benedict’s

Another fine option for any-day-of-the-week brunch is Benedict’s, which has been serving breakfast and lunch in Addison since 1986. As you might expect, the standouts here are the benedicts and you’ll have seven different varieties to choose from. Try the Baconberry with blackberry preserves and melted Swiss cheese or the Brooklyn Benedict with Carnegie Deli pastrami on potato pancakes. Harry's Hash in a Pan and other skillet options are as tempting as the cheese blintzes, pancakes, Belgian waffles, and French toast.

Hours: Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Add a Taste of Tex Mex

If breakfast tacos or burritos are your favorite breakfast, just add some mimosas and you’ve got brunch. Of course, you’ll find other options with Mexican and Texican flavors on these popular Addison restaurant menus.

Lupe Tortilla

Lupe Tortilla knows how to mix it up for brunch, with a mashup drink called the Mimosa Rita and an extensive brunch menu. Traditional options like huevos rancheros, chilaquiles and carne asada, and eggs will catch your eye, but consider one of a dozen omelet options. The spinach frittata or Florentine benedicts are great for veggie lovers, and praline pancakes or breakfast churros will satisfy your sweet tooth.

Set in a stone-trimmed and red-tile-roofed mission replica with arches throughout the rooms, the spacious dining room is ready for groups of any size. A shaded patio is equally adorned with Mexican-inspired accents. It’s the perfect spot for drinking one of those Mimosa Ritas, a Bloody Maria, or a Ruby Red grapefruit margarita.

Brunch Hours: Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Blue Mesa Grill

There are a couple of magic words when it comes to brunch, and Blue Mesa Grill says both of them. The first one is “buffet.” At Blue Mesa, you can load up your plate with huevos rancheros, adobe pie, made-to-order omelets and tacos, and so much more. Build a healthy plate with red chile salmon and grilled veggies, or sample some Southern-style biscuits and gravy or fried chicken and waffles.

The other magic word is “mimosas” and those come with your brunch too. Of course, if you prefer other brunch cocktails, you can order several favorites, including a Bloody Mary or the famous classic blue margarita. There’s plenty of room to sit inside or outside for the perfect brunch with family and friends.

Brunch Hours: Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Vidorra

For a lively brunch with the flavors of Mexico, make plans to visit Vidorra. Be sure to come hungry, because the extensive brunch menu includes all your Mexican and Tex-Mex favorites like fajitas, enchiladas, street tacos, burritos, and more. Egg lovers can go for the breakfast chimichanga, steak and eggs, or the Hangover Vidorr-Ito with scrambled eggs, chorizo, cheese, breakfast potatoes, and more wrapped up in a flour tortilla.

Both the main dining room and the enclosed patio are overflowing with greenery and other eye-catching design elements. Snap a pic for Instagram with your margaritas. If you can’t choose, order a flight of frozen Patron margaritas for the group and sample them all. Other fun cocktail options include the La Playa with orange juice, guava and watermelon purees, and the Paleta "Mexican Candy" Shot.

Brunch Hours: Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cantina Laredo

Savor some eggs Mexico City-style with migas con huevos or chicken chilaquiles at this favorite watering hole on Belt Line Road where brunch is hopping every weekend. Omelets are noteworthy too with chicken fajita or spinach and artichoke options.

Bright yellow umbrellas beckon you to the patio or gather the gang at a large-party table inside. Pull up a seat at the bar if you’re looking to make some new brunch friends. Brunch entrees come with a free mimosa or Bloody Maria. The bar also serves us some great mules and mojitos plus a dozen different margaritas.

Brunch Hours: Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Savor Some Steakhouse Style

We’ve always known that steak goes great with eggs, but it’s also wonderful with brunch cocktails. These Addison restaurants best known for steak serve indulgent brunches too.

DJ's Steakhouse

You can soothe your soul with some soul food for brunch at DJ’s Steakhouse. From homemade biscuits and gravy to oxtails to blackened shrimp or catfish and grits, this food is calling your name. Despite its simple strip center location on Midway Road, this spot has a vibe worth getting dressed up for, with a stunning bar and booths big enough for your whole brunch bunch.

Brunch Hours: Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Kenny's Wood Fired Grill

It’s not just steak for breakfast here - you can go simple with fried chicken and waffles or a bacon and egg burger if you like. Take things up a notch with Grand Marnier French Toast or one of Kenny’s Benedicts with your choice of short rib, smoked salmon, or crab cake.

Red leather booths and photo-adorned brick walls whisper “get comfortable” which is just what you want to do when a weekend morning comes too soon. Kenny’s wine list might have you asking “Why not”, or you can go with a spicy margarita or an espresso martini to wake you up. For a change of pace, try the Frenchie with Grey Goose, Chambord, Prosecco, and pineapple juice for a brunch-friendly cocktail.

Brunch Hours: Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lawry's The Prime Rib

Prime rib for brunch? Yes, you can have it on any given Sunday at Lawry’s. Other elevated brunch options include a lump crab omelet, pork belly Benedict, and beef medallions and eggs. If you’re feeling less fancy, you might want some chicken-fried bacon or the “SINK” sandwich with a fried egg, bacon jam, cheddar jalapeno sausage, provolone, pickled onions, and tomato on brioche bread.

It’s fun to brunch white-tablecloth-style, and the drinks here are as refined as the restaurant interior. Let the champagne flow in a mimosa with your choice of juice or a bellini with housemade peach thyme sorbet.

Brunch Hours: Sunday 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Palmas Brasil Steak House

Meat lovers, rejoice! Palmas Brasil Steak House has a brunch just for you. Actually, they have two brunches for you, with an option to choose a light brunch with a salad brought to your table and your choice of offered breakfast and brunch dishes.

The elegant dining room is the place to be for the full brunch with your choice of 11 meats including Brazilian picanha and sausage, leg of lamb, adobo pork loin, bacon-wrapped chicken and more. The full brunch also includes salad, dessert, and mimosas. You can also order Brazilian beer or a Caipirinha to continue the Brazilian flavor or choose a cocktail, wine, or beer from a full bar.

Brunch Hours: Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Put it on a Pizza

It’s pretty convenient to combine brunch and pizza, but brunch pies are far from the only option at these favorite Addison pizza restaurants.

Pie Tap Pizza Workshop + Bar

Light and airy pizza dough makes for perfect pies at Pie Tap, and breakfast pies here include sausage and egg, mushroom and egg, eggs Florentine and smoked salmon. Having a way with dough also makes for other delicious brunch options like glazed cinnamon rolls, chicken and biscuit, or housemade doughnuts. A farmhouse breakfast is another way to get your bacon and eggs or opt for a goat cheese and egg white omelet if you’re watching your carbs.

There’s comfy seating indoors and out for small or large groups, and you can sip some frosé or Bloody Marys while you work your way through the menu choices. Bargain-price mimosas are offered with orange, pineapple, or blackberry juice, and if you want to change things up make a cannoli martini or Irish nitro your brunch beverage of choice.

Brunch Hours: Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Zoli's

This beloved pizza joint is full of surprises, and brunch options are no exception. Try the Morty burger with a fried egg or a tasty breakfast hash made with waffle fries. If you want pizza for brunch, there’s a breakfast taco pizza or a Croque Madame reinvented as a pizza.

Walls of windows bring the sunshine in, and you can belly up to the bar for brunch drinks that are as creative as the food options. Mimosas and frozen strawberry bellinis give brunch a sweet start or try the Bloody Masterpiece or Zoli-Chelada made with Dos Equis.

Brunch Hours: Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
