There is always something happening within Addison’s 4.4 square miles, but our best picks in town are the special events occurring in Addison Circle Park. This massive,12-acre park was built for fun – literally!
For decades, Addison has hosted some of the top special events in the country and has been recognized internationally for bringing the fun like no one else. For 2020, there is something for almost everyone!
THE LEGEND:
Taste Addison, May 29-31
While now it is “normal” for a city to have a restaurant-driven festival, when Addison started Taste Addison back in 1993, it was a brand-new concept – and kind of a bold idea for such a small community. But Addison knows restaurants like no one else. Did you know that they once called Addison the Broadway of the restaurant industry? National brands flocked to try their new concepts in Addison because the theory was that if you could make it here, you could make it anywhere.
Taste Addison is so much more than a delicious bite or two! The festival returns to Addison May 29-31 and features local and national rockin’ entertainment on FOUR stages! Plus, you can enjoy beer, wine, and cocktail sampling all weekend long. Add that to the chance to try the foodie fabulousness of more than 40 restaurants, and you have a weekend that cannot be beat!
THE BLAST:
Addison Kaboom Town!, July 3
When you have a better fireworks show than anyone in Texas – and one of the top shows in the country - it needs to stand out on a night by itself. That’s why Addison shoots off its world-class Addison Kaboom Town! on July 3rd every year, not the 4th. Addison Kaboom Town! is more than just a fireworks show, though. In addition to live entertainment, there’s also the fabulous award-winning Addison Airport air show featuring historic warbird planes from the Cavanaugh Flight Museum and aerobatic acts. This is what really sets us apart from other Independence Day celebrations around the region! While the main party is in Addison Circle Park, the whole town becomes one big festival, with watch parties on every possible surface, patio, and parking lot.

Addison Oktoberfest, September 17-20
Do you love to polka as much as we do? Addison Oktoberfest is the best place to prost and party outside of Munich! An authentic recreation of the Munich Oktoberfest, this four-day fest features authentic German food and tasty Texas interpretations, more oompah than you’ll find anywhere else, unique activities like dachshund races, bier barrel rolling contests, German spelling bees, and of course bier - lots of Paulaner bier. Want to save a buck while downing your brats? Thursday and Sunday BOTH feature free admission!
THE "NEWBIE":
Addison After Dark, 3rd Saturdays in April – November at 7pm
Addison has a serious rep for creating massive festivals. But Addison After Dark, the town’s newest fest-set, creates one-night “mini festivals,” each with a unique theme. In 2020, you can enjoy:
April 18 – Fiesta Noche: It’s Latin night in Addison, and we’re celebrating big with food, fun, and a Selena tribute party, just in time for her birthday!
May 16 – Boots, Brews & BBQ: Learn to boot-scoot from the best while enjoying the classic Texas combo of barbecue and beer.
June 20 – Retro Night Out: Time to pull out your tie dye and bell bottoms for this 1970s-themed bash. We need photos. Lots of photos.
July 18 – Christmas in July: Texas in July can be hot – but in Addison, it’ll be nothing but cool with this North Pole theme night.
Aug. 15 – Pints & Pups: Party with your furry friend as you sample some of North Texas’ best craft beers.
Oct. 17 – Halloween Horror: This is a grown-up Halloween bash, with a classic horror flick, games and cocktails.
Nov. 21 – Harvest Hootenanny: Time to celebrate fall with the whole family at this celebratory hoedown.
