Over the past 25 years, we've loved visiting WaterTower Theatre for its innovative selection of productions and making Addison a must-visit destination for theater lovers across North Texas. If you love musicals as much as we do, you'll be thrilled about the 2020-2021 lineup!

SEASON OVERVIEW:

Young Frankenstein

WaterTower Theatre pulls a hit straight from London's West End: The Mel Brooks musical Young Frankenstein opens Oct. 22, and we can’t wait to see all the trouble that Frederick Frankenstein can create.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

Whether or not you read Mark Haddon’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, you’ll see why this book-club favorite became the 2015 Tony Award winner for best play. WaterTower Theatre has a reputation of using performance to address challenging topics, and this show’s careful handling of a 15-year-old on the autism spectrum is the perfect subject matter for Peterman and company to bring to North Texas.

25th Anniversary Concert

The artistic team will share the musical highlights from the 173 plays and musicals WaterTower Theatre has produced since 1996.

A Raisin in the Sun

A Raisin in the Sun is the first drama written by an African-American woman to be produced on Broadway and we can’t wait to see how director Phyllis Cicero will bring this American classic to life. The source material may be 60 years old, but this play is just as important and relevant today as it was then.

Goin’ Hollywood

Experience the world premiere of a brand-new musical, Goin’ Hollywood. This time-traveling whirlwind carries two unlikely characters back to 1949 Hollywood, where they find themselves writing movie musicals for the legendary L.B. Mayer. Get ready to see all the fabulous costumes from Hollywood’s Golden Age.

AMP: The Electrifying Story of Mary Shelley

For three nights only, guests can enjoy the U.S. premiere of AMP: The Electrifying Story of Mary Shelley. The English novelist was so much more than just the creator of Frankenstein, and actress Jody Christopherson has been lauded internationally for her portrayal.

Cirque Holidays

WaterTower Theatre adds to Addison’s holiday magic with Cirque Holidays, which it co-produces with Lone Star Circus. If you haven’t been to a Cirque Holidays show, you’ve missed out on one of our favorite new holiday traditions.
